Resident Programs Coordinator – Sunflower Hill at Irby Ranch

SUMMARY:

The Resident Programs Coordinator will report to the Resident Programs Manager (RPM) to assist with the planning and execution of programs and activities for residents at the Sunflower Hill at Irby Ranch Independent Living Residential Community. The Resident Programs Coordinator will have experience working alongside individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, will have a positive demeanor and will have a passion for developing and creating a community where adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities thrive. This position will work on the weekends and some evenings. This position is onsite at Sunflower Hill at Irby Ranch, located in Pleasanton, California.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Being a champion of programs and activities, encouraging residents to participate and become involved with programs regularly.
  • Develop positive relationships with residents to help evaluate that programs and activities are in alignment with their interests.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with Service Providers.
  • Oversee the set-up of programs and activities to ensure they are ready for residents’ interaction at the start of the program.
  • Oversee programs to ensure Sunflower Hill expectations of independent contractors and safety standards are being met.
  • Assist RPM with scheduling, program development and implementation.
  • Partner with the RPM to build a strong relationship with SAHA Property Manager and Facilities Team by working collaboratively with them to ensure a high level of customer service to the residents.
  • Occasional driving to purchase supplies and related items for programs and activities.
  • Provide coverage for the Residential Programs Manager when on vacation or out sick.
  • May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.

 

SCHEDULE

Hours offered per week: up to 40 hours

Typical Work Schedule (subject to change based on calendar of events):

  • Thursday – Sunday 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM OR 12:00 PM to 9:00PM

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • College bachelor’s degree or enrolled in a college bachelor program strongly desired, but will consider AA or enrolled in AA program for psychology, social work or related field.

Experience

  • 1 year working alongside people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Event planning or programming planning experience preferred.
  • American Sign Language (ASL) experience and the ability to interpret ASL strongly desired.

Licensure and Other Requirements

  • Valid CA driver’s license and automobile insurance
  • Ability to pass background check

  • Intermediate or higher computer skills: MS Office applications with the ability to learn software as needed for curriculum development

  • Ability to lift 25 pounds on a regular basis
  • Ability to constantly lift, bend stretch and stand during entire shift
