This December, we are thrilled to partner with the Community Health and Education Foundation (CHEF) for our Seeds of Independence Campaign. Every gift you make in December will be matched 50% by CHEF!
That means when our community helps Sunflower Hill reach our $30,000 goal, CHEF will contribute an additional $15,000—bringing the total impact to $45,000!
Our Sunflower Hill Garden also helps address food insecurity in the Tri-Valley region. In 2025 alone, we donated 3,864 pounds of organic fruits, vegetables, and herbs to our five local nonprofit partners who are on the front lines battling food insecurity in our community: Open Heart Kitchen, Tri-Valley Haven, Shepherd’s Gate, Culinary Angels, and One Nation Dream Makers. Most of our residents and participants rely on CalFresh/SNAP and face food insecurity themselves, making your support even more critical. Your donations in November helped us provide a free food pantry for all of our program participants.
To maximize this wonderful CHEF match opportunity, we are asking our supporters to donate to Sunflower Hill via the CHEF platform throughout the month of December.
Donating online via credit card is the fastest and easiest way to ensure your donation is counted and matched right away – and CHEF covers ALL credit card and administrative fees.
CHEF also accepts checks to accommodate donors who prefer mailing larger gifts or using Donor Advised Funds (DAFs). Please note:
