Sunflower Hill creates a wide ranch of programs and activities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We offer volunteer opportunities for in-person programs at the Sunflower Hill Garden,* programs at Sunflower Hill at Irby Ranch,* and other programs.
ASL INTERPRETER VOLUNTEER
Sunflower Hill is looking for a volunteer with American Sign Language (ASL) knowledge who can help provide a full range of interpreting/transliterating services for deaf/hard of hearing Sunflower Hill at Irby Ranch residents and program participants.
IN-PERSON GARDEN PROGRAMS VOLUNTEER
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are not currently offering volunteer opportunities for our in-person Garden programs. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we focus on providing a safe environment for our staff and program participants.
As a Garden Program volunteer, you will work with Teacher Abby and our program participants when they visit the Garden. Volunteers will assist with small groups of participants in the field to complete important garden tasks, including:
Our multi-disciplinary programs and activities are designed for adults with special needs (intellectual and/or developmental disabilities including autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, ADHD, epilepsy, and other chromosomal abnormalities). While our programs are designed for people who are moderate-to-high-functioning, our seasoned staff work to make content and experiences accessible and inclusive to all ability levels.
Please note: we require a background check for all of our Garden Program volunteers.
